Hourly Rate: $30/hr

Day and evening hours available- *You choose! Create your own teaching schedule. We are always looking for good instructors!

Part Time, 2 days per week (6-8 hours per week)

Job Description:

The Literacy Instructor provides GED or ESL instruction for adult students. The GED instructor will provide lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies to prepare students to earn the GED credential. The ESL instructor will provide English lessons to help students whose primary language is not English improve their verbal and written communication skills.

1. Lead and manage the students in direct learning activities in the classroom
2. Utilize best practices to teach students in the specific literacy area to achieve New York state measurable benchmarks
3. Participate in required departmental meetings and professional development training
4. Maintain professionalism at all time 

Job Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NYS Teaching Certification in any K-12 grade levels

• Bachelors Degree and teaching experience preferred 

• Interest in working with diverse populations

• Proficient with technology Preferred
