$71,312
+  1,500 w/Masters Stipend
$72,812

Job Responsibilities:

1. Facilitates the day to day operations of the full-time adult workforce development programs, relating to vocational/career training. 
2. Actively seeks and secures instructors for programs and supports the development of curriculum and identification of supplies and equipment. 
3. Monitors the overall operations of the programs including student attendance and academic achievement. 
4. Recruits for programs by attending job fairs and providing orientations for interested students including testing and interviewing and disseminating information to local partners. 
5. Meets with students and counselors to discuss specific improvement goals. 
6. Establishes student internships as required by the program. 
7. Maintains student records for final program evaluation and reporting. 
8. Submits requisitions for program supplies for supervisor approval. 
9. Works with business and industry to determine program need, provide awareness and place students in employment to include follow up and retention. 
10. Evenings hours are required for this position. 
11. Other duties as assigned that are relevant to the civil service job description for this title.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would be signed up to take the Erie County Civil Service Exam for Coordinator, Workforce Development 62455010 on November 9, 2024; or must meet qualifications for provisional appointment as follows:

A)  Possession of a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in adult vocational/career training; or:
B)  Possession of an Associate's degree and five (5) years of experience in adult vocational/career training; or:
C)  An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (8)

Additional Qualifications:  

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others on a team in a busy environment.
  • Tech savviness preferred.
