General Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator strives to meet the goals of both the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities grant and the Community Schools COSER. This role focuses on providing schools and communities with research-based best practices related to nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness, as well as addressing students' social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs. The Project Coordinator will work in conjunction with various directors, associate directors, supervisors, other coordinators, and staff to build connections between community organizations, agencies, government supports, vendors, and school communities. This collaborative effort aims to remove barriers to learning, support the whole child, and enhance the wellness of all school and community stakeholders.
Specific Duties:
- Community Partnerships and Relationship Development:
- Serve as a liaison between community agencies, partners, vendors, and school districts participating in the COSER and grant programs.
- Work with multiple stakeholders to support the goals of the Community Schools COSER and School and Community Wellness. This includes attending, managing, and conducting meetings, assisting in contract clarification, and addressing other topics as required.
- Stay informed about current research, new theories, laws, regulations, and materials related to Community Schools and School Wellness, and disseminate this information to appropriate personnel in districts and internally.
- Identify challenges faced by districts in implementing initiatives to address student/family needs or wellness policies and collaborate with other personnel to develop solutions that assist all districts during implementation.
- Service Delivery:
- Oversee and provide professional development to teachers, staff, and districts in identified areas or services as needed. Create and deliver high-quality staff development opportunities customized to each district’s and school’s needs. Topics may include teacher and leader evaluation, curriculum and assessment planning, data-driven instruction, coaching, modeling best practices, and promoting higher-order thinking skills.
- Maintain records, address needs, and deliver identified professional development supports either virtually or in person. Demonstrate credibility with teachers, administrators, educational partners, and outside organizations.
- Develop services and/or write grants to obtain funds to meet current and emerging needs.
- Provide timely communication in response to inquiries and follow-up for activities and professional development.
- Promotion and Service Development:
- Promote the division's vision for good customer service.
- Ensure that the needs of the districts are met through the enhancement and management of current services and the development of future services.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of promotional materials and utilize technology, such as social networking sites, to promote programs, services, and events.
- Data Analysis:
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and preparation of data using appropriate software.
- Maintain accurate records, communicate, and process billing contracts and related paperwork to the appropriate departments within Erie 1 BOCES and cooperating districts in conjunction with community partners/vendors.
- Assist in the submission of written reports and budgetary planning as needed.
- Facilitate electronic communication using all appropriate technologies.

- Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A.) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master's degree and one (1) year of experience in social work, counseling, public health or public administration, or;
B.) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years' experience in social work, counseling, public health or public administration, or;
C.) An Associate’s degree or 60 semester credit hours from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university and 5 years’ experience in social work, counseling, public health or public administration, or;
D.) An equivalent combination of education and experience of as defined by the limits of A, B or C above.
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
The successful candidate must take an upcoming Erie County Civil Service exam and be reachable on the list to maintain position.
