Job Description:
The role involves a range of administrative and technical responsibilities, including collecting, compiling, and entering data into computer and web-based systems; ensuring accuracy through output verification; following organizational processes; and generating reports. It requires maintaining organized records, communicating effectively via various channels, and occasionally operating copy machine equipment.
The Data Processing Control Clerk (DPCC) works primarily with the Print, Design, and Public Relations teams. The DPCC will report to the Division Director or other supervisor and will follow established procedures to facilitate the delivery of services in the Communication Services Division.
- Collects, compiles, and enters data into computer and web-based systems.
- Checks and compares the output for accuracy.
- Runs reports.
- Maintains and organizes scheduling and various records, including attendance.
- Performs quality control testing of software fixes and enhancements after initial testing by programming staff or vendor release.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with clients, staff, and colleagues by gathering and sharing information by way of phone calls, emails, posts, and print.
- Operates office equipment, including a copy machine.
- Assist with establishing efficient data collection and reporting processes.
- Establishes and maintains positive and productive working relationships with staff

Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:
Must hold permanent status as a Data Processing Control Clerk; or; be reachable on current Data Processing Control Clerk list; or; meet minimum qualifications for a provisional appointment as follows:
A) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of experience in control processing operations, at least one year of which must have involved the operation of data processing equipment; or;
B) Six years of experience in control processing operations, at least one year of which must have involved the operation of data processing equipment; or;
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
Desired Qualifications:

Considerable experience entering information into a variety of online software systems.

Microsoft Office Suite, including familiarity with Excel.

Excellent typing skills and accuracy, preferably with experience in entering customer information and numbers.

At least one year of experience is preferred.
