Job Responsibilities:
The Technology Services Account Advisor will serve as a liaison between school district administrators and the Erie 1 BOCES Western New York Information Center (WNYRIC) to provide technology product and service knowledge and project management. The Technology Services Account Advisor will serve multiple school districts in the five geographical regions served by the WNYRIC.
The Technology Services Account Advisor will serve multiple school districts in the five geographic regions served by the WNYRIC but will be focused in the Greater Southern Tier region. - Assists and guides school districts with their instructional and non-instructional technology needs
- Maintains active relationships with higher level school district administrators including, but not limited to, superintendents, business officials, technology coordinators, curriculum coordinators and building administrators to provide knowledge, guidance and support in identifying and fulfilling technology needs
- Maintains high level communication and project management skills relating to the technology services provided to the respective school districts
- Works with technology services vendors to provide highly effective and cost-efficient technology hardware and software solutions for school districts while maintaining knowledge of current and emerging technologies
- Performs technology hardware and software assessments for school districts to assist in the districts' evaluations of their technology needs
- Maintains oversight of technology services budgets to monitor appropriate and effective use of funds and addresses concerns with the WNYRIC business unit and appropriate WNYRIC service team

- Job Qualifications
Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:
There is no civil service examination required for this position for the duration of the NY HELPS Program. Candidates must meet the minimum civil service qualifications for a NY HELPS appointment as follows:
A) Masters degree with two (2) or more years of technology service training, sales or customer support experience; OR;
B) Bachelors degree with four (4) or more years of technology service training, sales or customer support experience; OR;
C) Associates degree with 6 or more years of technology service training, sales or customer support experience; OR;
D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C).
Additional Qualifications:
- The Account Advisor provides technical product and service knowledge, is collaborative, can build and maintain relationships, and has project management experience.
- The ideal candidate will also have strong customer service skills; the ability to listen and respond to questions, will be able to troubleshoot problems, identify solutions and make connections to address concerns.
- Attention to detail, responsiveness, and the ability to meet the needs of our component districts is a priority.
- The candidate shall maintain high-level communication and project management skills relating to the technology services provided to the respective school districts.
- The candidate will coordinate with vendors to provide highly effective and cost-efficient technology.
- The ideal candidate will be able to work within the budget set by the district for effective use of funds; good communication and collaboration with internal teams are a priority.
