Job Responsibilities:
The Welding Teacher will have extensive experience and proven proficiency in all phases of welding and cutting operations; an ability to effectively train personnel in the setup and operation of plasma and oxy-acetylene cutting systems; mastery of GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and SMAW (Stick) welding techniques; strong ability to accurately read, interpret, and work from industrial blueprints; absolute commitment to maintaining and teaching rigorous workplace safety standards.
Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid NYS Teaching Certification in Welding, minimum Transitional Certification is required.
Licensure: Possess (or be willing to obtain) state Vocational/CTE Teaching Certification.
Certifications: AWS certified welder status highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of verifiable, professional experience as a welder or fabricator.
Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, plasma cutting, and oxy-acetylene cutting.
Blueprint Literacy: Expert ability to interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational abilities.
