Job Responsibilities:

The Executive Principal provides campus-wide leadership with a focus on operational readiness, safety, security, facilities management, and administrative coordination. This role ensures the mentorship of Principals and Assistant Principals across instruction, smooth functioning of the Erie 1 BOCES new Instructional Services Campus, supports the transition and aligns campus operations with district initiatives and statutory requirements. 
The Executive Principal is responsible for overseeing all logistical, safety, and operational aspects of the campus, facilitating effective communication across staff and stakeholders, and ensuring a secure and well-organized environment for students, faculty, and visitors. 


Key Responsibilities: 
Safety & Security

  • Ensures compliance with all NYS Education Law safety requirements and emergency response protocols. 
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of campus-wide safety procedures, drills, and protocols. 
  • Manages visitor access, emergency communication, and security personnel coordination. 
  • Oversees the contracted security team, ensuring they effectively maintain campus safety and respond to incidents appropriately. 
  • Collaborates with Principals and administrative staff to ensure a safe learning environment for all students and staff. 


Operational Leadership & Facilities Coordination

  • Oversees campus facilities management, including building maintenance, grounds, shared spaces, and equipment. 
  • Coordinates with district office expansion teams, architects, and construction consultants to ensure operational readiness of the campus. 
  • Monitors and manages campus logistics, including food service, transportation, scheduling of shared spaces, and program-specific operational needs. 
  • Ensure operational compliance with all district, state, and legal requirements. 


Communication & Administrative Coordination

  • Serve as the primary operational and administrative point of contact for the campus, ensuring consistent communication with district leadership, staff, parents, and community partners. 
  • Assists with coordination of campus-wide events, family participation activities, recruitment days, and evening programs in alignment with district priorities. 
  • Facilitate collaboration and information flow among Principals, Assistant Principals, and other campus staff. 
  • Provide guidance and support in resolving operational or procedural challenges. 


Mentorship & Leadership Support

  • Mentor Principals and Assistant Principals, providing guidance on administrative processes, campus management, and operational planning. 
  • Ensure that district initiatives, policies, and procedures are implemented consistently across the campus. 
  • Monitor campus operations to support effective program delivery while maintaining a safe and secure environment. 
Job Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid NYS School District Administrator or School Building Leader Certification. 

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in administrative leadership with focus on campus operations, safety, and facilities management.

  • Demonstrated expertise in school safety protocols, emergency planning, security management, and oversight of contracted security teams.

  • Strong knowledge of NYS Education Law, APPR regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and logistical planning skills.

  • Ability to mentor administrative staff and coordinate across multiple programs and stakeholders
