Job Responsibilities:
Erie 1 BOCES is seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality speech and language services to students with disabilities across a variety of educational settings. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support communication development and student success.
- Provide speech/language services for students with disabilities in various special education classifications.
- Assess and support students with disabilities for initial placement, progress monitoring, and/or re-evaluation purposes.
- Write evaluation reports and read, write, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintain session notes and any other required documents for the purpose of Medicaid billing.
- Provide “under the direction of” services for teachers of the speech hearing and handicapped (as assigned), participate in team meetings, write progress notes, and participate in professional development opportunities as they become available.
- Consults frequently with school personnel and parents as to the individual student's progress.
- Undertakes continuous professional growth and development related to the field of teaching and/or specific area(s) of expertise.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change.
