Responsibilities:
The Exceptional Education Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating programming for Exceptional Education Division with a concentration of Curriculum and Instruction for grade levels 9-12 under the direction of the Exceptional Education Director. The Exceptional Education Coordinator plans, organizes and implements educational services, in accordance with Federal, State and local laws and rules. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Supervisor of Instructional Services.
- Responsible for all aspects of the 9-12 E1B Staff Development Days including: coordination, planning, securing developers, implementation, budget and accountability in collaboration with Instructional Service designees, Building Administration, and Exceptional Education teachers and support staff.
- Responsible for, in collaboration with Instructional Services designees, all aspects of 9-12 Exceptional Education Professional Development Plans.
- Works with Sr. Supervisor to implement new instructional initiatives (curriculum, technology, literacy, numeracy, CR SE Framework).
- Responsible for all aspects of the E1B Curriculum Mapping to align with New York State Education Standards.
- Responsible for coordinating and supporting District approved Exceptional Education Focus Groups and Committees.
- Represent Exceptional Education 9-12 initiatives in Curriculum Council and facilitation of action plans to support respective Curriculum Council initiatives.
- Responsible for, in collaboration with Exceptional Education designee, all aspects of E1B Mentor/Intern program including: organizing, implementing and preparation of mentors and interns trainings, and assignments with approval by M/I committee.
- Responsible for, in collaboration with Exceptional Education designee, all aspects of E1B New Hire Training and New Hire Make-up Training sessions.
- Responsible for implementation of the annual student assessment and program data analysis as mandated by the state and federal requirements related to teacher, principal evaluations and program approvals.
- Responsible for, in collaboration with assigned designee, supporting the Social, Emotional Learning of students to include, but not limited to: supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Teams; Restorative Practice Teams, and providing SEL professional learning opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
