The Senior Coordinator of the Community Schools CoSer plays a pivotal role in advancing district-wide efforts to support students and families through the community schools framework. This individual is responsible for identifying, applying for, and managing grants that sustain and expand services such as Family Support Centers and mental health initiatives. They must actively develop and nurture partnerships with local organizations, including health providers, universities, and social service agencies, to ensure consistent access to high-quality support across diverse districts. Familiarity with the Community Schools Transformation Framework is essential, as the coordinator leads strategic community planning, facilitates meetings, and supports districts and team in implementing trauma-informed practices, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and family engagement strategies. The role also involves capacity building through technical assistance, professional development coordination, and regional collaboration to address systemic barriers such as fragmented services and data infrastructure gaps. The Senior Coordinator for the Community Schools Coser should build service in response to district needs. The Senior Coordinator of Community Schools will work in conjunction with the Director of Internal Talent and Leadership Development, the Grant Coordinator, and Financial Manager to ensure all business, operations and budgets meet or exceed the expectations and timelines required to sustain grant funding and address Coser requirements.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Community Schools Coser and grants
- Actively seek additional grant opportunities
- Submit all paperwork and reports required by the grants and Coser
- Lead contact for all stake holders including school districts, vendors, community partners, and funding institution
- Create a yearly balanced budget in collaboration with the business office
- Provide direct supervision and evaluations for staff
- Provide monthly updates and reports to the Director of Internal Talent and Leadership Development
Community Partnerships and Relationship Development
- Will serve as a liaison between Community agencies, partners, and vendors and the school districts who participate in the Coser and grants
- Will work with multiple stakeholders to support the goal of Community Schools. This will require attending, managing, and conducting meetings, assisting in contract clarification, and other topics as required
- Becomes familiar with current research, new theories, current and proposed laws and regulations, and materials pertaining to Community Schools and disseminates information to appropriate personnel in districts, communities and internally
- Work in partnerships with collaboratives, community programs, and activities that support community development
Service Delivery
- Maintain records, address needs, and delivery identified supports either virtually or in person. Demonstrates credibility with teachers, administrators, and outside organizations
- Gather, analyze and submit data and reports required by the Coser and the grants
- Provide timely communication in response to inquiries and include follow-up for activities and professional activities
Promotion and Coser/Grant Deliverables
- Promotes the division's vision for good customer service
- Assist in the development and dissemination of promotional materials; and utilize technology, such as social networking sites to promote programs, services, and events
