Calspan Career and Technical Education Center
Cheektowaga, NY 

Duration: 6 weeks
July 1, 2026 — August 17, 2026

Hours:                        
7:30AM – 12:30PM

General Responsibilities:

To provide academic assistance and remediation to students who were unable to master coursework during the regular school year in a virtual, synchronous platform.

Specific Duties: (Illustrative only; not all inclusive)

1. Provides instruction in appropriate academic area.
2. Provides instruction or remediation as necessary.
3. Prepares lesson plans and makes optimum use of class time to meet stated objectives.
4. Evaluates each pupil's performance, knowledge, and skills in academic area of responsibility.
5. Maintains accurate and complete student records.
6. Assists in the storage, maintenance and use of materials and property.
7. Participates in planning and developing Program goals, objectives, curricula, and methods as requested.
8. Communicates the needs and progress of participating students to each home district in a timely manner.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Alternative Education Principal.

Job Qualifications

• New York State Teacher Certification: Biology 7–12, Chemistry 7–12, Earth Science 7–12, Physics 7–12, or General Science 5–9

• Proficient in virtual teaching and all associated platforms/programs
