Hourly Rate:
$33.36/hr PLUS generous benefits package
Annual Education Stipends:

Job Responsibilities:

Install and maintain server operating systems (Linux, Microsoft Windows, etc.) on physical datacenter hardware, on-premises virtual servers, and in cloud-hosted infrastructures

Maintain physical datacenter sites: determine placement of hardware and racks equipment with consideration for power usage, fault tolerance, application availability, and disaster recovery. Route network and data cables within and between server cabinets
Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in computer programming which included, at least, one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; or;
B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) or four (4) year college or university with an Associate’s degree in Data Processing, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and four (4) years of data processing experience, two (2) years of which, included computer programming, and at least, one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; or;
C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six (6) years of data processing experience, two (2) years of which, included computer programming, and at least one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; or;
D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C).
Additional Qualifications:

Two or more years enterprise-level virtualization administration experience

VMware vSphere required; Hyper-V, KVM (VergeOS, Proxmox, HPE VM Essentials, etc.) is a plus

Two or more years of enterprise-level SAN and/or hyper-converged infrastructure administration required
-
iSCSI required; NVMe-over-TCP and RoCE is a plus
-
Two years of physical datacenter administration (racking, power distribution, cable management.)

Two or more years of Windows and Linux server administration experience in an enterprise environment
-
Enterprise backup software administration experience: Veeam and Cohesity is a plus
-
Enterprise network switch management experience is a plus
-
Enterprise inventory, monitoring, and logging experience is a plus
