Job Responsibilities:

The Coordinator, Staff and Curriculum Development, Technology Integration strives to meet the organizational and professional needs of the districts for which (s)he supports. The Coordinator, Technology Integration will work in conjunction with the Associate Director, Managers, Senior Coordinators, Coordinators, Staff and Curriculum Development, Differentiated Instruction and Data Analysis and other Coordinators, Staff and Curriculum Development, Technology Integration by assisting with system changes of teaching and learning; providing quality, sustained professional development that connects educators with innovative approaches integrating technology to prepare their students for college and career paths.

  1. Service Development:
    1. Assesses and communicates emerging customer needs as it pertains to technology integration.
    2. Identifies district needs and makes recommendations about professional learning and programming to support effective technology integration.
    3. Works with Supervisor-Leadership, Mentoring & Technology Integration to research and develop professional development opportunities, resources, and materials to meet identified district needs.
    4. Works with the Supervisor-Leadership, Mentoring& Technology Integration to investigate innovative technologies.
      1. Research focused on best practice, pedagogy, and improving student outcomes using technology
      2. Investigate new practices and technologies and their anticipated value to furthering districts instructional goals and initiatives. Pilot potential technologies with interested districts to help them optimize strategic planning and district funds
    5. Provides planning and technical assistance to superintendent, central office personnel, principals, teachers, students and Board of Education, as well, as internal BOCES staff for:
      1. Research in instructional technology professional development areas including: local, regional, and statewide initiatives.
  2. Service Delivery:
    1. Anticipates, creates, and delivers high quality staff development opportunities for technology integration with New York State Learning Standards, customized to each district's and school's current and emerging needs and technology resources based on participation. Topics will vary as dictated by emerging technologies and district need.
    2. Coordinates high quality professional development delivery with appropriate clerical and district staff so that billing and other accountability procedures are adhered to and all workshop preparations are made.
    3. Demonstrates credibility and professionalism with teachers, administrators, educational partners, and outside organizations.
    4. Development services and/or write and administers grants to obtain funds to meet current and emerging needs.
    5. Provides timely communication in response to inquiries and includes follow-up for activities and professional development.
  3. Internal and External Communication:
    1. Promotes the division's vision for good customer service
    2. Develops appropriate channels of communication (that may cut across department and division lines) to deliver new and existing services
    3. Facilitates electronic communication using all appropriate technologies.
  4. Professional Responsibilities:
    1. Actively seeks out research-based educational best practices as it applies to technology integration and providing staff development to adult learners
    2. Keeps current on best practices by reading educational materials and engaging in on-going professional collaboration with other members of the Western New York Regional Information Center, Erie 1 BCOES and other BOCES, school boards and outside educational professionals and agencies
    3. Maintains a leadership role with technology integration by presenting at local and statewide technology conferences
  5. Professional Responsibilities:
    1. Staff will report to regularly assigned work place which may be a school district location based on FTE district participation
    2. Other related tasks as assigned

Job Responsibilities:

The Coordinator, Staff and Curriculum Development, Differentiated Instruction strives to meet the organizational and professional needs of the districts for which (s)he supports. The Coordinator, Staff and Curriculum Development, Differentiated Instruction will work in conjunction with the Director, Associate Director, Supervisors, other Coordinators, Staff and Curriculum Development, Differentiated Instruction and Coordinators, Staff and Curriculum Development, Technology Integration by assisting with building the capacity of all leaders, in and out of the classroom as a means to promote system change of teaching and learning; providing quality, sustained professional development that connects educators with innovative approaches to prepare their students for college and career paths. 

1. Leadership Capacity Building: 

  • Provides information and planning to superintendents, central office personnel, principals, teachers, students, and Board of Education, as well as, internal BOCES staff for: 
    • NYS Education Department reform efforts
    • Local and regional initiatives 
  • Guides school district decision-makers in efficient use of Erie 1 BOCES services and how to effectively implement NYSED reform efforts and initiatives 
  • Becomes familiar with current research, new theories, current and proposed laws and regulations, and materials pertaining to teaching, learning and leadership and disseminates information to appropriate personnel in districts and internally 
  • Identify challenges that face districts in the implementation of NYSED reforms or initiatives and work together with other BOCES personnel to develop solutions that will assist all districts during their implementation 

2. Service Development 

  • Assesses and communicates emerging customer needs as it pertains to curriculum, instruction, assessment and data analysis 

  • Identifies district needs and makes recommendations about professional learning and programming to support effective teaching to enhance student learning and increase student achievement 

3. Service Delivery 

  • Works collaboratively with Coordinators to create administrative information, resources, and support district leaders based on local/state/federal initiatives. 

  • Anticipates, creates and delivers high quality staff development opportunities and services in his/her field of expertise that are customized to each district’s and school’s current and emerging needs based on participation. Topics may include, but are not limited to teacher and leader evaluation, curriculum and assessment planning and development, data-driven instruction, coaching, modeling of best practices in an actual classroom, planning and development of curriculum projects and learning experiences which utilize best practices and promote higher order thinking skills. 

  • Coordinates high quality professional development delivery with appropriate clerical and district staff so that billing and other accountability procedures are followed and all workshop preparations are made.
