Job Responsibilities:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for servicing students based on their IEP OT needs. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, manage a caseload of students, travel may be required. Work with the educational team, complete IEPS in preparation for student Annual Reviews, complete evaluations and complete paperwork as required.

Specific Duties:

1. Evaluates physical, psycho-social and perceptual dysfunction of referred students.

2. Plans, administers, and supervises treatment procedures.

3. Develops assistive devices and self-help techniques.

4. Coordinates occupational therapy with other student services concerned with restoration and maintenance of the student's optimum level of ability.

5. Keeps accurate records of treatment and makes written reports on the student's progress for the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).

6. Consults with classroom teacher regarding specific needs.

7. Supervises Certified Occupational Therapists as assigned.

8. Maintains OT equipment.

9. Maintains and completes departmental paperwork.

10. Other related duties as directed by the Special Education Supervisor.

The Microcomputer Technical Support Specialist assigned to the VoIP team of the Technology Services Division is an employee with a wide range of experience with the processes and technologies of the WNYRIC. Reporting to the VoIP Supervisor, the Technical Support Specialist exercises leadership and some independent decision-making in regard to the assigned duties. The Microcomputer Technical Support Specialist will work on second level problem resolution for any of our 100 plus school districts, with a polite and courteous nature. This position will be responsible for the design, development, installation, implementation support and/or maintenance of VoIP equipment, applications, and Server operating systems.

The successful candidate will assist in the installation, customization, maintenance and support of approved WAN/Wireless/VoIP hardware and software integrations. Implements and assists in maintaining district level networking (including but not limited to routers, switches, wireless management, VoIP systems including IP Speakers/clocks, paging interfaces and gateways.

This position must work flexibly and creatively with other technicians and supervisors. Performs troubleshooting for computer equipment used in the delivery of WNYRIC/BOCES services. Undertakes physical activities such as keyboarding, lifting, and tasks related to the installation, troubleshooting and support of computer devices and networking gear.

Works in schools where students (children), teachers and administrators are present. Travels to building sites, within assigned districts; holds and maintains a valid New York State driver’s license, and has a reliable vehicle to travel to assigned work locations. Completes and submits official forms, time sheets and billing reports, in a timely manner. Generates tickets as required and updates and closes all assigned calls.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates/implement/maintain the ongoing operations of the Voice network. Must have knowledge or the ability to master analog punch down, analog toning and programming of various VoIP telephones.
  2. Implements and assist in maintaining district level networking (including but not limited to routers, switches, wireless management, VoIP equip, filtering servers, VPN's, switches) and related operating systems.
  3. Provides installation, customization and maintenance of approved vendor supplied software for Voice Networking. Assist supervisor with circuit turn ups and managing install vendors.
  4. Prepares charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing local and VoIP Networking problems while collaborating with team members.
  5. Prepare network packet captures and analyzes to determine communication errors.
  6. Performs the monitoring and assists in adjustments of network systems for optimal performance.
  7. Organizes and prepares Voice systems documentation.
  8. Assist with the monitoring and adjustments of firewalls, filtering, VPN and other networking devices.
  9. Communicates with district personal for efficient diagnostic and problem resolution of voice hardware, voice management tools, and voice technology.
  10. Interacts with WNYRIC Sr. WAN and LAN Specialists, application coordinators, specialist and customers to maintain optimal network performance.
  11. Undertakes physical activities such as key boarding, lifting, and tasks related to the installation, troubleshooting and support for telecommunications devices weighing in excess of 60 pounds.
  12. Works in schools where students, teachers, and administrators are present as needed and holds and maintains a valid drivers’ license.
  13. Provides and facilitates communication between Supervisor, team members, customers and other WNYRIC Teams (electronic mail, voice mail, cell phone, text messaging, collaborative virtual environments, etc.).
  14. Collaborates, as necessary, with other members of the organization in order to meet the evolving technical advancements in the K-12 environment.
  15. Studies and evaluates methods and procedures to determine the adaptability to existing network technology.
  16. Familiar with setup and use of Active Directory, Netware (Novell), Windows, Ethernet, TCP/IP, electronic mail (Lotus Notes et al), PCs, MACs and other technologies, as required by specific assignment.
  17. Provides off-hour coverage as requested.
  18. Other duties may be assigned that are relevant to the civil service job description for this title.
