Job Description:

The Literacy Instructor provides GED or ESL instruction for adult students. The GED instructor will provide lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies to prepare students to earn the GED credential. The ESL instructor will provide English lessons to help students whose primary language is not English improve their verbal and written communication skills.

1. Lead and manage the students in direct learning activities in the classroom
2. Utilize best practices to teach students in the specific literacy area to achieve New York state measurable benchmarks

The Spa and Salon Instructor applies their knowledge and incorporates those skills into teaching the students the theory and hands-on skills required to apply and pass the New York State Board exams in the specific licensed area.

Programs are determined at Erie 1 BOCES Workforce Development through employer-driven openings in high demand occupations in the Western New York area.

The Trades and Manufacturing Programs Instructor applies their knowledge and incorporates those skills into teaching the students the theory and hands-on skills in the specific trade area.

Job Description:

The LPN instructor is a Registered Nurse who instructs students on how to become a successful Licensed Practical Nurse.

You would apply your knowledge as an RN and incorporate those skills into teaching into the LPN coursework. They also avail limited privileges, but in general, the instructor is the one who evaluates the knowledge and skills of the students on the LPN course.

The instructor guides and encourages the students to achieve a higher license or rating and make a profession as an LPN.
